Making dance Fun. Inclusive. Cool.

What makes Boppin different?

Boppin is not your ordinary dance class. At Boppin we only dance to the most fresh and  funky songs, we only do the coolest choreography and we only ever have fun!

Our philosophy of teaching self-esteem and self-confidence through dance is the reason we are so popular with kids and parents. Regimented traditional dance training puts too much pressure on kids, and quite often it’s the stringent exam processes and strict teachers who make children want to stop dance. At Boppin there’s none of that!

It’s all about about having fun, making friends and getting fit with no pressure or grading involved and taught by professional dancers.

As well as having an open day for parents at the end of each term, every Boppin student also gets the chance to show off their newly learned dance skills with regular exciting performances in a variety of mediums; from flashmobs and music videos to our bi-annual Boppin show!

The class structure unique for each age group and tailored specifically to their needs and capabilities at that stage in their psychological and physical development.

Every class begins with a warm up specially designed to energise and engage the students. Corner work enables them to work out some of the dance movements before using them in the dance routines.

The emphasis is on having fun in a structured class with lots of positive praise and support.

At the end of each term there is an Open Day where parents are invited into the class to see how the children are getting on. This opportunity gives the Boppers a chance to show case their routines.

The teachers are professional dancers. All teachers and assistants are enhanced CRB checked and have First Aid Certificates along with insurance. They also have experience working with autistic, deaf and blind children.

How Boppin Started

Boppin started as an idea in which to provide fun dance classes for children of all ages.

As a child, Chloe Bell attended regimented traditional dance training. It was at this young age that she felt firsthand the pressures of exams from the result driven teachers, many of her peers choosing to stop dancing as it had ceased to be fun. It was this experience as a child that drove Chloe to develop the Boppin philosophy of focusing on process, self-esteem and confidence, which has made the school so popular among it’s students.

So, through collaboration with child psychologist, Becky Stevens, Boppin began thirteen years ago in a village hall in Headley, Hampshire.
